For what it’s worth, early trailers and info from the Resident Evil Showcase seem to indicate that Village will play similarly to the well-received Resident Evil 7, with a first-person perspective and an emphasis on caution. In fact, it seems we’ll be playing as Ethan Winters from the previous game, making his way through a snowy European village filled with monsters after burly zombie-killer Chris Redfield pulls him out of his peaceful life. God knows what advantage an everyman like Ethan has over somebody with actual military training or expertise, but presumably, that’ll be explained in the actual game. There’s also a tall vampire lady who the internet has gone… weird over. But I guess that’s the internet for you. Right now there’s been three versions of the game announced - the standard edition, the Deluxe Edition “Trauma Pack”, and the larger Collector’s Edition. All three come with a set of pre-order bonuses for players to enjoy, as well as features that add to the game and outside it, depending on which one you buy.
