The press release states we’ll get to study “realistic case files” that have been “created in collaboration with real-world forensic doctors”. We’ll also get to us a series of medically authentic tools and procedures, too. Autopsy Simulator will also include Autopsy Simulator: Dead Memories, a self-contained story mode “narrative-driven psychological horror”....

Massive Monster’s indie title, which tasks players with starting their own cult “in a land of false prophets”, has seen an impressive 1m sales across consoles as of yesterday. This is even more remarkable when you take into account that the game has only been out for a week. In a new post, the Cult of the Lamb team had the following to say about this milestone: “Honestly, we are still processing everything that has happened,” it wrote....

First up will be a football game developed by Sackboy: A Big Adventure studio Sumo Digital, VGC reported, for launch alongside the World Cup this November. An open-world racing game will follow next year, developed by WWE 2K22 outfit Visual Concepts. A third sports title is also planned. Lego’s next big game release is Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which arrives in April after various delays. It is developed by TT Games, the British studio which develops Lego games themed around licensed properties....

Multiple Ubisoft employees have rallied together to form “The Better Ubisoft” group. This group has been campaigning for improved working conditions since the company was hit with allegations of a toxic work environment last summer. These allegations include numerous stories of sexual harassment and assault concerning multiple employees at the company. However, even following a vow from Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot stating he would do “everything in [his] power to ensure that everyone… feels welcomed, respected, and safe”, the group says it is still waiting to see changes happen....

An individual by the name of “Kacey Montagu”, who was able to ask questions directly to White House press secretary Jen Psaki, has now been revealed as an imposter. Politico ran an extensive story on Montagu, detailing how they created the fake persona and were able to fool White House insiders. Montagu had apparently been masquerading as a White House correspondent since last year, creating a fictional “White House News” outlet to do so....

Interviewees discussed diversity and inclusion activities, home working, and unionisation among other topics following the abuse allegations that rocked the company in 2020. The interviews were conducted by the ACSisterhood group, a movement that began in response to those misconduct and abuse allegations. It’s clear from the responses that not enough has been done within Ubisoft to enact necessary change. Responses were kept anonymous to retain safety. “A reporting system for abuse was introduced....

The Pedestrian, which released on PC at the start of last year, follows the 2D adventures of an energetic stick person as they scramble across platforms imprinted on public signs scattered around a beautifully rendered 3D metropolis. Just as the platform genre demands, there’s ample jumping-type business to be done, but The Pedestrian complicates matters by demanding players make each stage, usually consisting of a number of different signs, traversable first....

Almost 1100 staff will benefit from the change from 1st January - although this will not apply to staff at Call of Duty studio Raven who are currently seeking unionisation. Activision has said it is “prohibited from making new kinds of compensation changes at Raven at this time” due to “legal obligations under the National Labor Relations Act” (thanks, The Verge). The move follows months of employee action surrounding the rights of contract-based QA workers, who are employed en masse to test Activision’s never-ending array of Call of Duty content....

Several staff members have spoken out publicly on social media to say they have now received and signed union cards. Meanwhile, the ABetterABK group of employees has confirmed a further strike will be held today. “Today, the ABK Worker’s Alliance announces the initiation of its strike,” the group announced via Twitter this afternoon. “We encourage our peers in the game industry to stand with us in creating lasting change. For those who wish to join in solidarity, please consider donating to our Strike Fund....

The new Warzone, which is described as “an extension of the Modern Warfare 2 universe”, has new Modern Warfare 2 content and systems with brand-new progression and inventories, Activision said in a blog post. Warzone 2.0 is due out later this year soon after Modern Warfare 2 comes out at the end of October. The Warzone that exists today will continue as a separate experience, Activision said, which will include a “continuation” of player progression and inventories within that Warzone experience....

Going into this generation, AMD offered up performance figures suggesting a 1.5x to 1.7x performance multiplier for the RX 7900 XTX when compared against the outgoing RX 6950 XT, its current flagship. Those performance increases can be achieved, but the boost to frame-rates is not uniform across the board - going into this review period, the hype suggested that the XTX should be knocking on the door of RTX 4090 performance in rasterisation, while soundly thrashing the RTX 4080....

The library feature is perhaps one of the most interesting aspects. This database of information, accessible directly from the device, was seemingly curated with the goal of identifying any and all variants of a game. For games which have had dozens of revisions, including different regions, the library can provide all relevant information. For every stamp collection you complete, Blathers will reward you with a special plaque that you can use to decorate your house. If you completed the Stamp Rally in 2020, you can use this as an opportunity to add more plaques to your collection, along with the Art Plaque, which, due to the Art Gallery not being in-game at the time, was unavailable last year....

Broken Moon takes players to Cleo, the fractured moon that played a major role in new hero Catalyst’s introductory Stories from the Outlands trailer. Years after a meteor impact almost destroyed it, Cleo is now partly terraformed and habitable - but to further fund its colonisation, the government has entered into a contract to hold the Apex Games there. When players step onto the surface of Broken Moon - said to be of a similar size to Apex Legend’s World’s Edge map - they’ll discover a world of two distinct halves, one part colonised and lush with vegetation, the other still barren....

“Let’s try that again,” Blizzard boss Mike Ybarra wrote on Twitter last night, sharing a fresh blog post from the developer which apologises - yet again - for the game’s troubled arrival and offers a few bits and pieces to cheer fans up. Overwatch 2 players can look forward to “several Double Match XP weekends” - dates for which will be announced soon. Anyone who logs in this season from 25th October onwards will also get a Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary skin and a Health Pack Weapon Charm, which is nice I guess....

We were expecting this last chapter of Eivor’s story to arrive next week, on 6th December. Announcing its early release last night, Ubisoft blamed “an unforeseen glitch in the Animus”. As expected, this final dollop of Valhalla storyline sees Eivor wrap up her time in England and head off to North America one last time - where the game’s opening shows she is buried. There’s time for a few final goodbyes with some noteworthy people from Valhalla’s long campaign, and then it’s off to find out more about what Odin has been up to....

Published by Square-Enix, Babylon’s Fall is a co-op action game for up to four players. Wield up to four weapons at once, carry a coffin around, and take on the Tower of Babylon. Fans of Platinum’s wonderful Astral Chain will see lots to get excited about what with all the chains flailing around, although Babylon’s Fall ditches sci-fi for a sort of colourful fantasy theme. The game’s visuals aim to replicate medieval oil paintings, using a newly developed “brushwork style"....
