Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King was released back in 2017 and sees the player as Lily, Knight of the Rose, saving the kingdom of Blossom, all narrated as a game-within-a-game by Grandpa. Blossom Tales: The Minotaur Prince will follow suit with a similarly narrated story, this time influenced by classic fantasy films like The Princess Bride and Labyrinth. The Seagate-made storage expansion card is roughly half the storage size of the existing 1TB card, and has now appeared on both French and US retailers (thanks, Windows Central). Without an official announcement there’s no knowing exactly how much the 512GB model will cost, though we expect something around half of the 1TB model’s £220 RRP. There’s no sign yet of any model with more storage. Promotional materials also show a USB-based SSD storage option, which would be used for transfering games back and forth off to your main SSD options....

Already in developer testing before a full public rollout this autumn, iOS 16 will allow you to use Nintendo’s controllers to play games - or do anything else app makers might imagine. The addition of Switch controller support follows the inclusion of support for both the PlayStation 5 DualSense and the Xbox Series X/S controllers last year, as part of iOS 14.5. Discussing the new addition, Apple engineer Nat Brown revealed a trick to pair the Joy-Con as a single controller or split them to use as two individual units: by simply holding the bottom face buttons (Capture and Home) for a few seconds....
Like many artists, senior artist Frank Aliberti - who currently works as a senior character artist at 2K but formerly worked for PlayStation Studios Visual Arts - has his credits listed on ArtStation. It’s Aliberti’s work with PlayStation Studios Visual Arts that’s caught our collective attention, however, as Aliberti’s most recent credit indicated that they had worked as a senior artist on Death Stranding 2. As news about Aliberti’s portfolio spread across the internet, the artist has since gone back into their profile and removed all references to Death Stranding 2 entirely, but not before ResetEra managed to clip and save the original resume, which posited that the highly-anticipated sequel was set to release in 2024....
It’s the latest sign a more powerful Nintendo Switch variant is on the way, though not for this year. Exactly what “4K-ready” might mean - full 4K support and to what level - is not expanded upon. Nintendo itself declined to comment on the report. Talk of a more powerful Nintendo Switch mode is nothing new. Back in March last year, a Wall St Journal [paywall] report tipped two new Switch models in varying stages of production....
The lengthy blog post contains mention of two teams led by two creative directors. Clint Hocking, formerly of Splinter Cell and Watch Dogs Legion, will lead a team at Ubisoft Montreal. Jonathan Dumont, a veteran of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Odyssey, will lead a team at Ubisoft Quebec. The Infinity project that will include the games made by both these teams will be led by Marc-Alexis Côté, who will now serve as executive producer of the entire Assassin’s Creed franchise....
Originally set for 29th April, the Ireland-set add-on will now launch two weeks later on 13th May. “To deliver a more refined experience, we’re sharing that Wrath of the Druids will now release on 13th May,” Ubisoft announced on Twitter. “We’re working on an article to provide transparency and share insights on our dev process. Thanks for your patience.” Wrath of the Druids is the first expansion to be sold separately for Valhalla, and is part of the game’s twin-expansion season pass....

Here players can discuss sexually explicit topics and engage in virtual sex. And while these games are hard to find and aren’t up for long, Roblox does accept it has an issue with sexually inappropriate content. “We know there is an extremely small subset of users who deliberately try to break the rules,” a Roblox spokesperson told the BBC....

Dragonflight, as detailed in Blizzard’s April reveal stream, will give players access to the long-hidden ancestral home of dragonkind, known as the Dragon Isles, introducing four new areas - the Waking Shores starting zone, Ohn’ahran Plains, Azure Span, and Thaldraszus - complete with new dungeons and raids. Dragonflight also adds the Dracthyr Evokers - a new playable race-class hybrid that can, depending on a players’ chosen class specialisations, focus on either damage dealing or healing - plus a new skill-based flight system tied to customisable dragon companions....
Classic Mode first surfaced as a stretch goal in Bloodstained’s 2015 Kickstarter campaign, and although its target was met, developer ArtPlay’s focus on remedying Bloodstained’s troubled Switch port meant the mode was still missing in action as late as last year. However, a revised development roadmap released in June confirmed Classic Mode was still on the cards - alongside a hefty selection of other previously promised DLC - and its long-awaited release is now finally here, albeit somewhat later than the Q3 2020 date originally planned....
Bohemia broke the news in a lengthy livestream that began with confirmation the long-awaited Arma 4 is in development (its predecessor, Arma 3, celebrates its 10th birthday next year), but the remainder of the stream’s focus was very much on Reforger. It’s being called a new standalone “platform” for the series, consisting of several key parts: there’s a new engine, a new open-world sandbox, three gameplay modes, and integrated modding tools, enabling users to create and download mods directly in-game....
As detailed in a new post on the game’s official blog, the anti-cheat team had been testing a mitigation technique called “Damage Shield”, which disables the cheater’s ability to inflict critical damage on other players - and now it’s been globally deployed. “This mitigation leaves the cheater vulnerable to real players and allows #TeamRICOCHET to collect information about a cheater’s system,” the post explains. “We track these encounters to ensure there is no possibility for the game to apply a Damage Shield randomly or by accident, no matter the skill level....

Developer Good Luck Games was this week acquired by cryptocurrency company FTX, which plans to add NFTs to the free-to-play game. Currently players can buy access to heroes and skins using real money, but they now fear how NFTs may be integrated and are review-bombing the game on Steam. Good Luck Games addressed the use of blockchain technology in a press release, though no specifics are given beyond the integration being “ethical” and based on fun....
This isn’t the first time it’s been adapted into a video game, but this new version is set for release across Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
