Rated at 3200MT/s CL16, this kit is precisely in the sweet spot when it comes to price versus performance. When going below 3200MT/s, you tend to lose performance pretty rapidly, whereas going beyond around 3600MT/s you start running into diminishing returns, with very marginal gains and much higher prices. There are still tons of PCs operating with 2133MT/s, 2400MT/s or 2666MT/s memory, and they’re leaving a bit of performance on the table....

Gabe Newell is, I think it’s fair to say, very excited about the Steam Deck. After a short delay and much, much excitement, the portable PC is finally here and it’s quite possibly Valve’s most exciting piece of hardware to date. Or more exciting than one of the last notable ones, at least - the much-heralded Steam Machines which caused much excitement upon their announcement in 2013 but never really gained a foothold with Valve moved to assure people the platform wasn’t entirely dead just three years after the machines came out in 2015....
When Steam Deck reservations first opened in July last year, Valve anticipated its hardware to begin shipping before the end of the year. Unfortunately, disruptions in production caused by a lack of available parts crushed those pre-Christmas dreams and Valve adjusted its planning, telling customers it expected first Steam Deck units to release in February this year. And now, in a new update on its blog, Valve has confirmed those revised plans are still in play, with Steam Deck due to start winging its way to customers based on reservation order from the end of February, “global pandemic, supply issues, and shipping issues notwithstanding”....

Ghost’s face has been one of Call of Duty’s biggest mysteries since his introduction. Just who is it that hides behind that slightly unnerving facial covering? Well, this mystery is a mystery no more, as Ghost has - quite literally - been unmasked by Redditor Crafty-Astronomer905 (thanks PCGamesN). You can see Ghost in all his full-facial glory in the image below. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Ghost’s actual face appears to be modelled after Samuel Roukin, who provided both the voice and motion-capture performance for the character in Modern Warfare 2....

The company told The Verge it recently completed the upgrade, allowing for higher framerates and lower loading times. However, it is yet to fully utilise the hardware to produce 4K streaming, which means players will have to settle with 1080p 60FPS streams for now. Microsoft recently expanded Xbox Cloud Gaming to Australia, Brazil and Mexico, and is now available in over 26 countries. Microsoft is also working to bring the service into the living room through dedicated smart TV apps which will allow players to stream games without a console....
As already announced, Remedy’s Control is coming to Xbox Game Pass on PC on 21st January. Also on 21st January, Desperados 3 and Donut County both hit console, PC and Android. The wonderful Outer Wilds launches on Xbox Game Pass on Android also on that date. Moving on to 26th January, and Cyber Shadow launches on Xbox Game Pass on console, PC and Android. Two days later, on 28th January Bloober Team’s The Medium launches onto Xbox Game Pass on Xbox Series X and S and PC....
Although no trace of it remains on Steam - and a Reddit post about the beta was similarly pulled from Reddit because the “automated bots think it might be spam” - details of the app remain for all to see on Steam DB, a website unaffiliated with Steam but monitors and shares information about the PC platform’s backend. Right now we don’t even have a release date for Gotham Knights, let alone details of a beta, so for now, all we can do is take this as an unsubstantiated rumour....
