Kotaku spotted that developer Blackbird Interactive had piped up on Fig, the crowdfunding platform on which Homeworld 3 raised $1.5m (£1.08m), with a 28-second video that shows a brand new unit called the Railgun Frigate firing at and blowing up another ship. Today, Amplitude released a video thanking fans for their feedback so far during the game’s beta-style OpenDev sessions - and for their further patience: “The team will be focused on improving areas of work identified by the community during our previous Lucy OpenDev, when players tested out 4 eras and 40 cultures of the game to give us their thoughts,” Amplitude said today....

As with PS4, the issue here was a loss of access to digital games when the console’s internal CMOS battery failed. The CMOS battery powers an internal clock which the console uses to check eligibility for game ownership. If the battery failed, or simply ran down naturally, access to most games would be blocked until an online check could be made. Some physical games were also affected. It’s fitting timing what with the prevalence of loop games at the moment: Majora’s Mask sees Link repeating a three day cycle to stop the moon from destroying the world of Termina.
